VMX Visual manufactures four professional LED display categories:

Pixel pitch determines the minimum comfortable viewing distance. The formula is straightforward:

Minimum viewing distance (metres) = Pixel pitch (mm) × 1,000

For example, a P3 display is best viewed from 3 metres or beyond. A P10 outdoor billboard is designed for viewing distances of 10 metres and above.

For stage rental, P2.6–P3.9 covers most concert and event applications. For outdoor billboards, P4–P8 is the standard range. For XR studio walls, P1.5–P2.6 is recommended depending on camera focal length and stage depth.

Brightness requirements depend entirely on the installation environment:

• Indoor commercial: 800–1,500 cd/m² — sufficient for ambient indoor light, comfortable for extended viewing
• Semi-outdoor / covered outdoor: 2,500–4,000 cd/m²
• Outdoor full sun: minimum 5,000 cd/m², with 6,000–8,000 cd/m² recommended for direct sunlight environments

Driving displays beyond their rated current to inflate brightness figures shortens panel lifespan significantly. Always ask for the photometric test report at rated drive current — not the peak specification.

For standard event and advertising applications, a refresh rate of ≥ 3,840 Hz eliminates visible flicker for audiences and cameras.

For XR studio and virtual production applications, refresh rate is critical. Camera shutters operating at high frame rates will produce visible rolling bands on displays with insufficient refresh rates. VMX Visual's XR studio series is optimised specifically for high-speed camera workflows.

All VMX Visual outdoor LED displays carry a minimum IP65 rating — full dust protection and protection against water jets from any direction. This is the minimum acceptable standard for permanent outdoor installations.

VMX Visual LED displays are rated for 80,000–100,000 hours of operation — equivalent to 9–11 years of continuous 24/7 use at full brightness.

This lifespan is only achievable if panels undergo proper factory aging tests before shipment. We conduct 24–72 hour full-load aging tests on every production batch. Request the aging test certificate for your specific shipment before signing.

Load-bearing requirements vary by product and installation type. As a general guide:

• Stage rental panels: designed for truss rigging and ground-supported stacking — confirm weight per m² with your rigging engineer
• Outdoor fixed installations: require engineered steel mounting structures rated for local wind load standards
• Indoor wall-mounted displays: typical load 20–35 kg/m² depending on cabinet type — verify wall construction load capacity before installation
